Lash extensions are high quality slivers of pvc applied individually or in small light groups to single natural lashes. They mimic the look of real lashes but for a much more full, dramatic effect.
We use premium lash supplies from Sugarlash based out of Canada, Lash Affair based out of New York, and Lash Box LA based out of Los Angeles. We chose our companies based their attention to quality. We carry 2 different adhesives to get the best range of application in any environment. Our lashes are Cashmere .02mm. They are soft, matte, and finely cut. We carry a large range of weights and lengths of lashes so that we can customize your lash application. But we believe our work speaks for itself. You can view our instagram portfolios here (Rachel, Samantha, Catherine, Isabella, Priscilla, Bianca).
No, but they CAN if incorrectly applied or cared for. You lose 5-6 eyelashes a day through normal/natural shedding processes. Extensions may slightly increase this rate due to the weight and the cycle of lash growth. Real damage occurs when eyelashes are prematurely pulled out. This usually happens if clients are rough with their extensions or if the extensions applied are too heavy, too long, weighed down with excessive glue, stuck together in clumps, or stuck to multiple lashes. At Sirene we take care to monitor the health of your lashes and apply them carefully to avoid all of these problems. We have many clients who have been receiving extension services for up to 12 years from us without taking breaks. We care about your lash health and we will put it above making a dollar. If we feel you are not suited for extensions despite our efforts, we will recommend other options.
Please come to your lash appointment with no makeup on. Makeup is a film that can sit between our adhesive and your natural lash, causing it to lift off easier. Please stop using mascara 2 to 3 days before your lash appointment as many of our gentle eye cleansers can not effectively remove many mascaras completely. Also, we recommend using a lash cleanser for several days before your appointment for best results.
Yes. However, many times clients come in from other salons with improperly applied extensions. It is very difficult for us to work around the issues improperly applied extensions creates. It takes significantly more time to clean them up and takes away from actual lash application time. If you choose to do a fill with us, please understand that one visit will not fix them and will not make them look like the work we post on our instagram (it's still half someone else's work). If they are really difficult, we may recommend a removal and reschedule your appointment entirely.
Yes, but not on the same day. The gel remover we use is difficult to get completely off. We have learned that it is safer to remove, wait a few days and then put on a new full set. If a new set is applied the same day, retention of the lashes is compromised. If you only have a few lashes left on from your last set, we can easily pop them off without using the gel and you can get a new full set the same day.
We strongly suggest wearing minimal to no makeup with your extensions, particularily in the eye area. Extensions are meant to be a natural looking enhancement. Eyeshadows, foundation, liners and eye creams can affect your extension's retention. Also, you may not realize how easily makeup builds up on your lashline which affects the bond in the application process, making it difficult for your extensions to hang on between appointments. Our clients who cleanse their lashes regularly and wear minimal amounts of makeup in the eye area have amazing retention between appointments. Keeping them clean before and after appointments really works.
Your lash extensions are attached to your own individual eyelashes, and will shed as your natural lashes shed (5-6 naturals shed per day). Maintaining your lash extensions will require regular visits to attach new extensions (fill-in) to your own eyelashes as your eyelash growth cycle regenerates new lashes.
With a few simple care instructions you will be on your way to enjoying your luscious long lashes. To increase the longevity of your lashes, it is advised to avoid moisture and touching as much as possible.
Avoid using mascara and eye makeup 2-3 days before your first appointment. The film it leaves on your lashes may prevent the extensions from adhering correctly. Wash your lashes with a lash cleanser or baby shampoo for several days before your appointment for the cleanest lashes possible.
Arrive to your appointment with dry, clean lashes and makeup-free eyes.
During the initial 24-48 hours after your appointment Do not get your lashes wet for 24 hours after the lash extensions are applied. The adhesive is curing during this time and water can cause the adhesive to become brittle.
Avoid wearing sunglasses as they can trap the fumes coming off the adhesive near your eyes and cause irritation.
Watch for signs of allergies such as swelling, redness, or tenderness in your eye area. Report these to your lash artist.
Avoid steam from showers, facials, saunas and swimming pools and direct spray from the shower on your lashes.
Avoid getting moisturizing products around the eye area when performing skin care or makeup.
Avoid tanning beds as the UV rays and heat can weaken the adhesive.
Avoid heat from ovens, grills, dishwashers and campfires as they will singe the extensions and weaken their bond.
Avoid chemical peels, waxing or laser treatments around the eyes.
You can expect a few extensions to fall out the first day after getting a full set. We’re not perfect!
Do not use mascara, even on your bottom lashes as it will transfer to the top lashes every time you blink. Ask about our tinting services if you feel your bottom lashes need something.
Brush your lashes with a spoolie often but gently. Do not snag them at the base as it will rip them out. Do not brush them while wet.
Avoid rubbing your eyes or touching your lashes.
Wash your lashes regularly as prescribed by your lash artist. Cleanse with an approved cleanser, rinse with cold water, allow to air dry before brushing gently with a spoolie.
Do not use an eyelash curler. It will bend your extensions and potentially damage your natural lashes.
If you can, sleep on your back to avoid the risk of lashes rubbing against your pillow. If this is not possible, silk pillowcases are good for your skin, hair AND lashes.
Do not attempt to remove your extensions yourself. Oils will not work! If you would like them removed, please contact your technician! Please be aware that removals can be a difficult and uncomfortable process.
If you go on vacation, please go swimming. One of the benefits to extensions is looking amazing doing all the things you love. We can replace the extra loss when you get back. Have fun!
Above all, we want you to enjoy your extensions. Making you look and feel your best is why we do this. Our clients report loving their extensions because they can wake up looking on point and natural. Extensions are a great compliment to a sporty lifestyle with minimal daily care. Take care of them and they will take care of you!
